Overview
This radiotherapy technology course deals about the medical use of ionizing radiation, as a part of cancer treatment, to kill the tumour cells and spare the normal tissues. High-energy x-rays and gamma rays generated from sophisticated equipment such as Medical Linear Accelerators, Telecobalt and High dose Brachytherapy. Recent advanced machines are used to treat cancer patients by various radiotherapy techniques such as Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), Three dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Brachytherapy and many other special techniques.
